  • ½ tsp ajwain
  • 1 half cup chick pea flour/besan
  • 6-7 slices of white bread or brown bread
  • 6-7 cheese slices (you can use grated cheese also)
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala powder
  • oil for frying
  • salt as required
  • water for mixing the paste

  1. First of all make a batter of besan, the spice powders, ajwain, salt with water. It should not be too thick nor too thin
  2. Add a few drops of oil to it
  3. You can add ginger garlic paste to the batter
  4. I have not used it.Now cut the bread slices into two rectangles
  5. Cut the cheese slices into two rectangles. Now we will make the cheese sandwich for the bread pakoras
  6. Take a piece of the rectangular cheese square
  7. Keep it on the rectangular bread slice
  8. Cover this slice of bread with another rectangular bread slice.Ensure that the cheese is well covered in both the breads. You could also as an option add some mixed herbs or chilli flakes or pepper powder on the cheese
  9. I just used plain cheese without any addition of herbs or spices. Now take the cheese stuffed bread and coat it completely in the chick pea flour batter. The batter has to coat all the sides of the cheese stuffed sandwich
  10. If not the cheese will melt while frying and come in the oil.Deep fry the cheese sandwiched pakoras in hot oil
  11. Drain bread pakoras in tissue paper to drain excess oil.Serve Bread Pakoras hot with green chutney or tomato sauce
  12. The fun is in eating the pakoras hot as you feel on your palate, the melted cheese with the outer crispy layer
  13. The Bread Pakoras are crisp from outside but soft from within.
